Connor's 5th Birthday

We celebrated Connor's 5th birthday over the weekend and on Monday, which was his actual birthday. I took vacation days on Friday and Monday to spend some extra time with him. So, we had plans of going to Piney Grove camping and we were going to grill steaks and open presents, and have cake and ice cream. But, it started storming on Friday, and you can't stay in a tent with it storming. So, we had to cancel Friday night. Then, we planned on having it at our house on Saturday night. Well, Saturday, Connor starts getting sick and running fever. So we had to cancel it for Saturday night also. He was wanting to open his present so bad, so his Mammaw Mike brought his Lord of the Rings cake over and we had a mini party.

                                                                Connor at Mt. Fugi

On his actual birthday, we took him to his favorite restaurant, Mt. Fugi! They brought him out fried ice cream and played the birthday song. He loved it. Then we went on the hunt for one last birthday gift, Light Up Shoes. His cousin, Holly, threw him a surprise birthday party on Thursday with his other cousins. He was very surprised, and kept telling everyone how much he appreciated everything. Such a blessing to have this sweet boy for 5 years, Happy Birthday, Connor!!!

ER Scare

Yesterday Connor wanted to go play at the park, so we went around 5pm before we went to Mammaw Sue's house for dinner. He was playing and I was thinking how much he has grown. He could climb all over the place, and then I heard something hit the ground. I saw that it was Connor, and couldn't get to him fast enough. I was wanting him to get up, but he didn't. Finally, I picked him up and he was white as a ghost with blue tinged lips. I said, "Connor, breathe," he said, "I can't". It had knocked the breath out of him. He finally started to cry and I was relieved. After about 10 minutes, I finally got him to calm down. I took him over to the ladder he fell off of and asked him to show me what happened. He was about 5 feet up and said he looked down and his feet weren't that far from the ground, so he decided to let go. Well, instead of his feet hitting the ground, they hit the lower latter steps and it threw him on his back. I wasn't sure if he hit his head or not. Justin said to just watch him for headache or bruises behind his ears. He did fine last night, but woke up around 3:30am very restless and moaning with his head hurting. Justin said to get him to the ER and have him checked out. The ER was wonderful. They did a CT scan and said they saw no bleeding or fracture. Thank you Lord!! My wonderful boss let me off for the day and we went home and rested. Connor slept until noon. Needless to say, we will not be going to that particular park for a while.

1st Prenatal Visit

Today was my first prenatal visit. I went in for a sonogram and blood work at 6 weeks, but today was my first time to visit my OBGYN. I wasn't expecting to get to see the baby, but they got the fetal heart tones by ultrasound, instead of by dopplar. It was the most beautiful thing. My little baby was just jumping around and moving his/her hands and feet. The ultrasound tech said, "Aw, look at HER jumping around"! So, we will see... We will be so happy with whatever the Lord gives us. I was so relieved to see and hear the little heartbeat, which was 174. They say girls have a fast heart rate. That would make big brother so happy, he so wants a little sister. Thank you Lord for answered prayer. I am 10W5D today, due date is December 14, 2013. We will set up a c-section date in a couple months that will take place around 39 weeks. Justin's mother wants the baby to be born on December 9th, which is her birthday. I haven't gained any weight yet, although I certainly feel like I have. Still weigh 118. Also, I have not been sick at all, only thrown up once. This is very strange for me considering I was very sick with Connor, but I am not complaining. Not the best quality pics, but it was the best I could do with trying to take a picture of my ultrasound pics. In the first one, you can see the little hand. Thank you Sweet Jesus!!!

First Trip to the Park in 2011

We are dying for some warmer weather here. Saturday, it got up to a whopping 47 degrees. We decided to take Connor to see Chronicles of Narnia at the Malco. He was super excited. Well, when we got there, they only had it in 3D, and we knew he would not wear those glasses for 2 hours. So we left the theater and drove by the mall to see if the game room would be crowded, and could not even get a parking spot at the mall. Justin decided to take us to Ballard Park to let Connor play for a little while. Connor loved it but I was freezing. After about 15 minutes he slid down a slide and got his pants wet with water, so we had to leave. He was not happy about that. So we got him a nugget happy meal for McDonalds and went to Gan Gan and Papaw Larry's house for pizza. He loves to play with Heather and BJ, so he was fine with this plan.

Today was our first snow day of 2011. It started snowing last night, and this morning we had around 6-7 inches of snow. It was beautiful! Digestive Health was closed today and will be closed tomorrow. Six days home with my sweet boy. It's gonna be hard to go back Thursday. ICC was closed today as well as tomorrow. Justin didn't go to Fred's either. So, we had a family day out in the snow. We played out at Matt and Shanna's most of the day. Connor had a blast. Then Mamaw and Papaw Mike came over to play for a while. We have had the most fun day!

Connor's Beautiful White Christmas

Connor woke up to a beautiful surprise on his 3rd Christmas!
He is not sure what to think about it!

We woke up Christmas Day when Mike called Justin and told him to look outside, WOW! What a surprise we had! Justin and I have never had a white Christmas. The last year it snowed on Christmas was 1963! We woke Connor up and got him into some warm clothes and went outside to play. He threw about 5 snowballs and then started screaming, "my hands are burning, my hands are burning". So we did everything we could to warm them up, after about 15 minutes of holding them under water, he stopped crying. So much for the snow. Now, it was time to open presents, his favorite!

Connor's Shooting House

Connor's Papaw Mike worked very hard during the months preceding Chrismas to build him something very special. It was an AWESOME Shooting House. Now we can go hunting when it is too cold or even rainy. To say that Connor loves it would be an understatement.

Thanks Papaw Mike for such a wonderful gift.
